DAVID GEO ROMBACH 25.02.2025 04:11:55 Thank you both.
Well done, Dave! It looked like a bit slow going at first, but then you did a nice job picking it up and getting to the goal!
Thanks guys. My flight was an interesting mix of thermal and low wave. I didn't want to spend the time climbing high in the wave and just bounced through wave lift bands as I headed East. I was happy to have a ballasted '20 to reach my first lift after release...and for the last leg home! I agree that tow pilots should be more accommodating to those of us on the other end of the rope! ;-)
Great flight with the ASW20, Brad. Unfortunately not the strong wave like I got with the DG100, but a very good result.
I wish we could control the tow plane a little bit, I suggested it on Condor forum, but until now they prefer tow pilots towing us in mountains or far away. I remember an SG38 flight where the tow pilot released me over a huge forest, without a lift I couldn't reach the border of the forest. I got the lift, but IRL we would have a very serious talk after that flight
Thanks both, with the SF28 I also didn't find that nice wave like at the DG100 flight, but it worked with strong climbing and strong sinking. Speed is your friend when it goes down. The route is IMHO a very good one, because it's easy to navigate with the two lakes leading to the airport.
I'm out of office this week from today, good luck both with your flights, I wish you a nice wave flight, it's really amazing when it happens!
The updated task runs on C2 server too
Thought about the wave and changed the fpl for Condor 2, it has now the same upper wind speed like Condor 3. Replaced the fpl in the task document and on the server.
I got climb rates of 5 + m/s, 10 knots in the wave in Condor 3, hope it will work correct in Condor 2. Good luck!
NewZealandN3 is ready, changed the flight plan on the C3 server (OneDesign) for using this landscape. The C3 flight plan for NewZealandN is saved in the task document too, both flight plans can be used in C3. NewZealandN3 is the version with autogenerated buildings.
OneDesign for Condor 2 will still use NewZealandN
