David 25.06.2024 16:15:59 Thank you both, Brad you stayed high, very well done.
Great flight with the ASW20, Brad. I absolutely agree with your comment. The advantage of the 20 on paper is the higher wing load, but if you have to drop water, that advantage is gone. And else the LS3 is the better climber in my opinion. In the conditions of this task I guess a flapped glider is better than a non-flapped glider, so first choice will be the LS3 this time. But we will get new cards in next task
Thanks, the Ventus flights (I tried two) were very interesting. Flew that plane first time after 2 years. Could take and keep full ballast the whole flight. It's an amazing climber. The LS3 too, but I had to drop 20 %. Last flight was with ASW15, no ballast but very very difficult. So variation has maybe a big influence to the result.
Saw Brads ASW20 flight, for sure not a lucky one. Very difficult over the high ground in Norway. You said I shouldn't appologize, but I'm sorry nevertheless
Had difficulty at the mid point, many clouds had weak or no lift. Best I got on the vario was 4 kts.
Further south I got , the better it was. Still didn’t beat Brad, but not a bad flight.
Thanks, Hamar is the favorite boat harbor for my dogs, because there is a fantastic place for dogs right at the water, where they can run free and meet other dogs. They love it when we travel with the boat to that harbor. But the reason for me to fly that route is the relief, I only follow valleys because I got a horrible sinking over the mountains at the first LS3 flight. Constant 1,5 m/s air sinking (+ sinking of the plane) until I was on the ground. It was for sure lee side and shadow side, but with that low wind speed I didn't expected that. It was nothing I could do. I have had the height for the final glide before but landed more than 10 km too early.
yes , most excellent. Got patio done ?
Very unlucky with your flight Brad. I remember the blinking lights at the airports, but haven't seen them a long time. I guess since I use my "new" laptop (2 or 3 years old now?) with much better grafics. Or some changes in the settings, I don't know. Not to have them is ok, but get them at a wrong place is very confusing. I would have done the same "mistake" in the same situation.
Looks like weather settings for both tasks (OneDesign and the usual) are much more challenging than expected. Sorry (a little bit ;-) )
Thanks, yes I took the 1-26, because I want to fly all planes in this season. The weather conditions match the RL weather at the moment. After being very warm it's now cold. I drive soon to our cottage to replace a patio, it's possible to get snow there, and a lot of rain.
I'm sorry for Brads outlanding too
Yes, I can't fly my usual Thursday this week. Conditions are in both tasks weaker than in the last tasks, will see what my flights are worth
