Landscapes

Peter 22.10.2024 18:08:26

Don't worry, you can't hurry me ;-) I think it is the landscape right north of GTA, west from Appalachia. After all changes for Condor 3 are done I will first focus on Cascadia and the way up to the north on the west side. Then back to the east on the north side to get the round trip. If I then will fill the space between the landscapes, I'm not sure. It's a huge mountain of work and I have to think what I will do with the rest of my life time. Until now I have fun doing that, but I'm not getting younger ;-)

NO , NO HURRY, jUST WONDERING WHERE IT WAS

Peter 22.10.2024 16:13:47

No, I don't do it yet. It was a suggestion from you some month ago and I only defined the border.  With 850 airports to do I'm not really motivated to do it soon ;-) The definition is from February 2023

I'm now working hard on BarronHilton to get it finished before I start the changes for Condor 3

I see you are going to do a landscape called Seymour. Where is that ?

Peter 19.10.2024 15:24:49

I will know what I chosed, when I bought it, but I see your point. Can use the money maybe better for more planes, there will come some nice ones ...

David 19.10.2024 15:05:51

That’s my thoughts, after all we are vintage. I only fly vintage planes and your landscapes.

Peter 19.10.2024 05:59:42

Yes, I prepared some things for Condor 3. Regarding the base version I asked nearly the same question in Condor forum, because I don't want to use the hawk vario in a vintage glider. The answer was, that you can configure everything. So I thought to buy the xc version to have all options, but I think too the basic version is enough. I need no hawk, no flight computer and no bug swiper.

Hm, thinking about that again, maybe I will spare some money and stick with the basic version too, not sure yet ...

See you have been working on the web site, especially the Landscape part. Very nice. I cleaned up the disc, have 50% available , about 77 GB.  Since we are vintage group , should I purchase the base version only?

Thanks for sharing, very interesting!

Then we will fly there the last OneDesign task of this season, a beta version is no problem if the landscape is not ready then. The Barron Hilton Cup is well known in Germany, founded by Barron Hilton and Helmut Reichmann

That would be great to do the Flying M ranch. I just did research on him. Had never heard of him, the competition or the ranch. We here in US fly SSA competitions , not FAI.

 Thank you for the update.

Another planned but not yet started project is Cascadia, maybe two landscapes. Can be used for mountain flying in North America like the Alps in Europe. Will see, if I make it as next project, or if I first will continue from BarronHilton to the North to meet Cascadia later. But this will not happen in 2024. For the Journey I have a long way to fly before I reach the border, so I have time to continue there. Maybe it will go better when snow is here, there is a lot to do to prepare for the winter right now.

and the texture of the landscape

I'm just working on a landscape I named "BarronHilton", a landscape around Barron Hiltons Flying M airport. I'm a little bit busy, therefor the progress is not like I want. Actually 136 of 380 airports are defined, deleted 20 - 30 until now, so I guess it will be between 300 and 350 at the end. I would like to use this landscape for the OneDesign-final, but I don't believe it's finished in December. Maybe I will find another place, or I make a beta.
When Condor 3 is on the market it will need some time to get the series run with Condor 3, the existing landscapes need some work and the modifications of the panels and so on.

What new landscapes are you working on now?
