Season 2025 task B

Peter 08.04.2025 09:23:51

Task B is finished now. Thanks for the first "full house" task 2025 with all flying all categories ;-). A lot of points went to Brad this task, congratulations!

The servers run task C now, and the Vi(rtual)Glide is back ...

Brad 08.04.2025 05:15:17

Ha ha. Not a stupid question at all, Dave. Well, when I came in to land I put the gear "down" and it went up instead! Did a quick "cycle to get the gear down for landing though.

Peter 06.04.2025 21:23:45

Brad wrote it in the comment

David 06.04.2025 21:02:41

Maybe a stupid question, but how did you know the gear was down?

Peter 06.04.2025 08:53:07

Interesting route in OneDesign, Brad. Unlucky with the gear down. It happened to me too long ago, flew the whole flight with gear down and put it up for the landing. Since then I double check it after release with F2

Brad 06.04.2025 07:59:08

Thanks guys. I found those "Dave" thermals that gave better climb rates this time! Dave, you're LS3 flying is looking good!

David 05.04.2025 23:59:40

Thank you , Peter, a little short. LS 3 a good bit faster, route too short. But love the speed.

Dsvid 05.04.2025 23:57:30

Excellent flight Brad, good climb rate as well.

Peter 05.04.2025 21:20:41

Nice flight with the LS3 David, well done

Dsvid 05.04.2025 16:11:28

Excellent flight Brad, good climb rate as well.

Peter 05.04.2025 08:47:56

 Great Ka6 flight, Brad, congratulation!

DAVID GEO ROMBACH 04.04.2025 17:53:27

ok thank you, thats what I thought

Peter 04.04.2025 17:48:32

Yes in SeeYou, average climb rate. My SF28 flight 1,9 m/s, Brads Ka6 flight 2,2 m/s and your Ka6 flight 2,7 m/s. I think, amazing is not a wrong word ;-)

David 04.04.2025 15:56:02

Thanks for the compliments on the flight. I didn’t think the climbs were that good. Where do you see that ? In See you? I saw percent of time in climb was good.

Peter 04.04.2025 07:17:42

The Ka2b is probably build in 1956, so it was 23 when we flew it. Next year it will be 70 years old. It was a long story for my friend to find it and to get that appointment. That was really a good moment.

Our club gave it away to some guys from a neighbor club at the end of 1979. The military closed the military club (Bundeswehr Sportfluggruppe) and gave the planes to the local clubs, we got a Do 27, PA 18, K7 and the L-Spatz, my favorite plane. The Ka2b needed a lot of maintenance and was replaced by the K7.

I saw it the last time maybe 20 years ago at the neighbor club and read later that it was sold to two guys near Frankfurt. One of them still owns it and showed it to us now. He restored a K6E already and has the Ka2b as a possible future project. It's stripped completely, we will see if the restore will happen

David 04.04.2025 03:33:22

 Thanks Brad

Brad 04.04.2025 02:04:09

Peter, my error! I was in edit mode. Once out of edit I could see the picture. ;-)

Brad 04.04.2025 02:03:13

Good flights, Dave, you picked some good clouds!

Peter, I would love to see the Ka2b picture but I get a "404" error. Never the less, it is terrific that you were able to visit the glider you first soloed! What a wonderful memory.

David 03.04.2025 22:23:37

 Thank you , Peter

Peter 03.04.2025 22:06:53

Very good Ka6 flight, David, amazing climb rate, and calculated to the full 90 minutes very close to Brads flight. Well done!

Peter 03.04.2025 06:58:40

 Good luck

David 03.04.2025 00:14:35

Ok fly it again one person

Peter 02.04.2025 23:46:38

Nice flight nevertheless. ASK13 flies in Blanik category, and this category doesn't allow ballast. You flew the ASK13 with two people, so with fixed ballast, therefor the flight was put into others

David 02.04.2025 23:33:42

Flew the ASK- 13 today in the Blanik class, but it went to other. Don’t know why?

Peter 01.04.2025 23:51:56

Offtopic: Todays high light: visiting our Ka2b with my best friend. It's stored in a greenhouse for a possible restauration. It's the plane we both did our first solo with in 1979 20250401_142718.jpg - 20250401_142718.jpg

Brad 01.04.2025 05:48:56

Thank you both it was a fun flight...just got a little slow for a bit. Feeling like I need to try again! ;-)

David 30.03.2025 15:01:39

Very good flight, Brad , thanks for the congrats.

Peter 30.03.2025 06:16:39

Very good Ka6 flight, Brad, very close. Congratulation!

Brad 30.03.2025 01:35:44

Nice work with the OneDesign flight, Dave, well done!

David 29.03.2025 14:02:08

It was indeed fun, glad to get it home.

Peter 29.03.2025 06:43:21

Good flight, David, good distance and climbrate

Brad 22.03.2025 18:27:13

Thank you both. It was a fun adventure. Got a little slow on the second leg with lots of blue in the area...just like we saw with our multi-player flight.

David 22.03.2025 16:20:23

I was indeed a good one

Peter 22.03.2025 08:50:30

Great ASW20 flight Brad, congratulations!

Brad 09.03.2025 00:44:49

Thank you both. This was a fun flight for me. I did not use a map so I needed a good landmark to navigate by...the lake seemed to be the better choice. ;-)

David 08.03.2025 19:56:40

 Good flight Brad, interesting route.

David 08.03.2025 14:09:29

 Good flight Brad, interesting route.

Peter 08.03.2025 08:46:48

Interesting flight along the lake, Brad, well done. Hope you enjoyed it, I like that landscape

Peter 08.03.2025 06:41:44

Saw right now that I had forgotten to change the servers. Now all should run task B

Peter 07.03.2025 23:50:27

Thanks, I always try my best ;-)

Brad 07.03.2025 22:45:04

You always have good flights to get us started on task, Peter, thank you! The Bergfalke was one of my trainers at Cold Lake and I really enjoyed flying it as a new pilot! I too need to get started on Task B!

Peter 07.03.2025 05:25:28

 Thanks, was a nice flight

David 07.03.2025 03:58:27

Good flight , I need to get started.

Peter 02.03.2025 05:05:56

Thanks. It's a nice task, good conditions and nice country. Because the airport is on a little hill it's good to find home. Had a nice flight so far, but came home too high, flew a little bit out and calculated wrong the way back with head wind. Didn't made it home and crashed into the trees. Loaded up nevertheless, but will replace it with a new flight today

David 02.03.2025 04:06:33

Nice flight in the SF , Peter. Good speed

Peter 01.03.2025 22:41:02

The two seater you can see most in the video is a Bergfalke, build by Egon Scheibe (Scheibe Flugzeugbau = SF). The SF28 is a Bergfalke with an engine. In the picture above the Bergfalke, below the Ka2b

David 01.03.2025 20:41:52

I like the planes as they did a nice job on restoring them. That last one was kinda like the SF 38 , without engine.I also like that thy had planes I flew in rl, the cub, k6 cr . And the Baby as we flew in Condor.

Peter 01.03.2025 19:55:38

Nearly at the end of that video is a wooden two seater with a german sign. It's a Ka2b, same type of my first solo 1979

David 01.03.2025 17:03:03

 Great video , beautiful planes

Peter 28.02.2025 15:01:35

Task B is started, task A will run until Monday
