Task I

Peter 01.11.2024 13:15:26

Task I is finished now

David 27.10.2024 15:01:10

Great flight ,Brad . Yes ballast helps.

Peter 27.10.2024 08:39:38

Indeed, no flight is finished until you found the best lift when you don't need it :-D

Brad 27.10.2024 07:20:12

Thank you, Peter. Had to try the '20 again. Used some ballast this time. Of course the best lift was found on final glide! ;-)

Peter 27.10.2024 07:14:05

Great flight in the ASW20, Brad. Congratulations!

Peter 25.10.2024 05:16:37

Thanks Brad. It's not dangerous and will be fine again soon ;-)

Brad 25.10.2024 04:50:39

Yes, really good flight, David, congratulations!

Peter, sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. Continued well wishes for being back to good health VERY soon!

David 25.10.2024 04:30:14

Never did see Jezow Sedeki , but came close.

Peter 25.10.2024 03:00:46

Very good flight David, congratulations! Yesterday was my usual flight day, but I felt a little bit ill, so I flew only a short Journey flight. Getting better already now

Brad 15.10.2024 04:24:26

Good to see you at the 1-26 pilot's BBQ, David, congratulations!

David 14.10.2024 15:35:54

Yes, I’m pretty satisfied with it.

Peter 14.10.2024 07:33:36

Great OneDesign flight, David, congratulations!

Peter 12.10.2024 23:25:51

Oh, I misunderstood. I'm still hoping we get some new pilots, who want to win too ;-)

David 12.10.2024 23:18:24

Oh I’ll get Condor3 , but might wait till after it comes out for a while. Seems there is always a patch or two after release .

What I meant was the you and Brad know where Jezow Sudecki is, you’ve been there. And you two will amass more points. So one of you all will win the Condor 3 .

Peter 12.10.2024 21:09:00

You will not update to Condor 3? My plan is to run Condor 2 and 3 on my machine, and I want to let Vintage Series run with Condor 2 and 3 too. We will see how that will work with multi player, but offline will Condor 2 be enough for to participate in the series.

David 12.10.2024 19:22:40

Well, guess who’s getting Condor 3, not me.

Dave 12.10.2024 16:04:27

Great flight , guys. Yes the stoppage is annoying.

Peter 12.10.2024 08:56:00

Interesting flight, Brad. You reached Jezow Sudecki, so you know the way for Thursday. Well done. The stops are not really good. SeeYou shows a flighttime of 2:04, VS calculates 1:48, if I add 6 minutes for the tow you got stops of 10 minutes all together. It's the same I got on all flights. If I understood right, that issue is fixed in Condor 3. I hope ...

Brad 12.10.2024 08:39:59

Always a good day when you come back for the BBQ! Congratulations, Dave!

David 11.10.2024 16:38:14

Thank you , Peter. I came back sooner than expected. And wasted time thermaling . Tried to get higher than 3800 feet, but didn’t realize the inversion layer at 1100 m.

Peter 11.10.2024 05:43:51

Good flight with the Blanik, David. Well done.

David 07.10.2024 16:44:47

Great flights to you both, great save to you Peter

Peter 07.10.2024 08:39:57

Yes a tough one, Brad. Saw your Ka6 flight, looks like the conditions are again not as good as I expected, when i defined it. Moderate strength and very wide width should give better lifts I thought. So we are back to typical North German weather

Peter 07.10.2024 06:21:04

Thanks. A blue task is something you don't have control over. You have to continue as far as it goes. If you are lucky you find something. I was lucky ...

Brad 07.10.2024 05:35:11

Nice save with the Baby flight! Another great performance from you, Peter, congratulations!

Brad 06.10.2024 06:14:14

Excellent OneDesign flight, Peter, even if there were squirrels involved! Congratulations!

Peter 06.10.2024 06:00:17

Wow, that's interesting. Read he was born 1937, so he is 87 years old now

David 06.10.2024 04:55:41

You mentioned Hanna Reitsch . I read her biography,  Flying for the Fatherland . In 1976 she came to the US and stayed with a friend of mine, Karl Striedieck. She was trying to accomplish some world record flights along the Allegheny Ridges. Karl , last month ,won the World Championship at Uvalde, Texas. Took him 46 years to do it.

David 05.10.2024 20:06:56

We to college with people from there

Peter 05.10.2024 19:05:05

Thanks, I now have the name of the valley too. And where is a valley, there must be mountains. I like to learn about regions / landscapes in Condor. It's still interesting

Dave 05.10.2024 18:52:32

A group calls themselves Sequachie flyers

Peter 05.10.2024 18:25:44

and I did a big mistake, I understand now. I calculated with the airport height of Eagleville, but of course I had to take Marion. If I looked at Marion I will have seen the hills. But me flat land guy thought, it's all flat. Was lucky that Marion is ca. 40 m lower than Eagleville, good for the squirrels and the plane ...
You wrote about the ridge flying at Marion. I read it but didn't realized that this was very important for my flight too

Peter 05.10.2024 17:54:43

Thanks, yes, I had calculated 2231 m QNH (1993 m QFE) for the last 40 km for to be exact. But I didn't knew about the hills I had to fly over to come to Marion, so it was again a squirrel approach ;-)

David 05.10.2024 17:27:30

Good flight in the one design, great final glide, Peter. Looks like from where you were, you need about 6000 feet.

Brad 05.10.2024 14:19:55

What a wonderfully historic place, Peter! Thank you for the background stories of the area...very cool!

Dave, too bad about the outlanding. So close after such a good...but good experience for the logbook! ;-)

David 04.10.2024 17:16:51

I do too , didn’t see it. That field is where a group from Eagleville flys the ridge there. They get towed from  Chillhowee

Peter 04.10.2024 15:58:50

In such cases I pause the game and look with external view. Not really like real life, but it helps ;-)

David 04.10.2024 15:53:39

 Had altitude, couldn’t find airport

Peter 04.10.2024 10:10:47

Good flight, David, and so close to the finish ...

Peter 04.10.2024 08:26:29

no, it was really easy. I only followed the planned track on the map, on the foot of the hill is a little town, very good to recognize. BTW Hanna Reitsch was born in that town in 1912, the German name of that town is "Hirschberg", she started her flying career 1932 in the glider school of Grunau

DAVID GEO ROMBACH 04.10.2024 07:17:55

Good flight, Peter . I'll bet the field was hard to find?

Peter 04.10.2024 06:12:08

Thanks. I flew to Jezow Sudecki, an airport on the landscape without border and windsock, because it's not flattened. You can make a gravity start there in Condor like IRL. In the 1930s they build a glider school at that place, when it was a part of Germany. The German name of that place is "Grunau", it's the place of birth of the Grunau Baby. The screenshot shows my turn point picture. It was the first time I flew there, it was a long time on my wish list... Shot2.jpg - Shot2.jpg

Brad 04.10.2024 02:22:46

Thanks guys, it's definitely flyable! Finding the correct path with the best lift will be the trick! And thank you, Peter, for being the test flight in Poland...your results were good though, even with the challenges. Congratulations!

Peter 03.10.2024 23:23:59

The Poland task is unfortunately very challenging for the computer. Nice to fly with a lot of lifts, but with long waiting times. I had breaks of 45 seconds, 10 minutes all together in the whole flight

David 03.10.2024 21:28:12

 Good flight , Brad

David 03.10.2024 21:27:22

 I’ll try maybe today.

Peter 03.10.2024 06:20:51

Good OneDesign flight, Brad, well done. Always good to see a task is flyable. I will try the blue task in Poland tonight, hope it's ok too

Dave 01.10.2024 14:32:26

 Yes ok for me

Peter 01.10.2024 07:27:36

Thanks, Brad, 10th doesn't work for me, so we should try 17th. Is that ok for you Dave?

Brad 01.10.2024 07:22:03

Task I multi-player works on either 10th or 17th for me right now.

Peter 30.09.2024 16:27:30

Good luck!

David 30.09.2024 15:32:14

Will finish H today

Peter 30.09.2024 07:18:30

Task I is started now. For multi player I think we can take 17-10, 24-10 or 31-10, depends on which day is the best one on your schedule. I suggest a Cirrus flight in Poland
